Currently reading:
- The Portable Atheist by Christopher Hitchens
- Godless by Dan Barker
- The Bible [KJV, Catholic Bible circa 1954]
My primary interest in reading The Bible is to become an evangelical Christian, proclaim George Bush as my savior and possibly meet some loose chicks. Ok, two out of the three are bogus. Actually I’m slowly going through my own personal read and commentary on this fairy tale. – but so far I’m just getting started with the background. Cripes, the damn thing is so freaking long, with microscopic print.
Recently completed reads:
- Jefferson’s Vendetta by Joseph Wheelan
- 23 Years – A Study of the Prophetic Career of Muhammad by ‘Ali Dashti
- Infidel by Ayaan Hirsi Alil
- Misquoting Jesus by Bary Erhman
- God’s Problem by Bart Ehrman
- Why I Am Not A Muslim by Ibn Warraq

Hi, can you recommend a list of top 5 books on the Bible – thorough, exhaustive, competent works. I have been a fundamentalist christian for 25 years and I am trying to once and for all come to the conclusion that the Bible is not the word of God. Thanks, there are so many things on the net, but I just cant read on screen. (please email me directly if possible)
